Usually when designing a product our thinking is how do we pack as many features into a single product as possible. We added a 27mm and 12mm hex head meaning it's easier to find a tool to remove the front axle nut. We also made the hex head deeper giving the wrench better grip. We chose 27mm instead of the stock 24mm because the rear axle nut is also 27mm. No need to carry that 24mm tool in your pack anymore.
